Open for 2026! One year in Arizona down!

Spring has sprung, and we are already busy with renters coming to enjoy a scenic ride to Sedona, the Grand Canyon, or even further destinations like Zion! In fact, it is in the 70s and sunny, trails are open, and it feels like summer! The motorcycles have all had their oil changes and thorough maintenance checks so they can perform flawlessly for my guests during this long riding season! Last year it was nice until about mid-November, when the vibrant gold aspen leaves put on a gorgeous show on the San Francisco Peaks and snow finally arrived on the mountain. Phoenix is burning hot in the summer, but Flagstaff is located at 7000 feet in the mountains- it stays pleasant here all summer! Beat the heat with some mountain riding with us!

Where are you planning on riding this season? Let us make it happen for you with our helmet and luggage rentals (locking hard panniers or various soft bags) that make traveling to rent our motorcycles easy-peasy- you won’t have to haul a bunch of luggage! I am planning a Monument Valley trip shortly, a White Mountains ride to the famous “Devil’s Highway” in eastern Arizona, which used to be highway 666 but is now highway 191 featuring 150 miles of daring mountain curves, a Moab trip, and once the snow melts, several Colorado trips to enjoy the mountain majesty of the Rockies. Last year, I was quite busy moving in, but did fit in a few good rides, like this cold BDR section ride where I motocamped near the Mogollon rim and woke up with frost on my tent and bike! My brother got me a battery powered heated vest from Costco. That and my heated grips came in handy this ride!

I was reflecting recently on how I came to inspect this house in Flagstaff a year ago. I can’t believe it’s already been a year! This property, with its big garage and fully furnished guesthouse, enabled me to take Edge of Adventure Tours to new heights! I can now offer fully all-inclusive motorcycle tours with my on-site Airbnb, rental motorcycles, and guided tour offerings! Some guests prefer to stay in the Airbnb and just ride day loops to all the interesting nearby destinations from Flagstaff for simplicity. Situated on my property about 10 minutes east of town, the Airbnb is tranquil and quiet, pet friendly, has a kitchen, grill, and patio for post-ride brats and beers, and has amazingly bright stars at night! I am also partial to the beautiful sunsets behind the mountain.

I’m sooo much closer to the best the Southwest has to offer now, like the red rock national parks in Utah and the Rocky Mountains! I don’t have to trailer the motorcycles to Utah or Colorado for tours anymore; those destinations are a reasonable riding distance away now. San Diego had some twisty riding close by and great weather for sure, but it was then a 400 mile ride across a burning hot desert to get to any OTHER destination.

The property is also large enough that AZBDR riders can park their vehicles here and stage from my property to hit the AZBDR 5 miles away. I have parking for my toy hauler, which cost $300 a month in San Diego for a spot at a trailer storage park. There is so much varied terrain and great camp and hike spots nearby for me to explore- an upgrade in all respects! I am happy to have returned to my home state after so much wandering for the Navy.

Feel free to email me if you have any fly and ride ideas in the Southwest, and I’ll make them happen! When the heat of summer has you down, just remember- the mountains are calling 😊
