Partners and Products We Like

We are proud to build connections with other small business and Veteran business owners! We only recommend places and products that we have visited or tested ourselves!

We do a lot of route planning. Finding and connecting awesome trails while ensuring they are big bike friendly, end up at a good distance for the day, and appropriate for the skill level of our riders, is the most important core competency of this job. We did it old school for years, doing research online, watching Youtube videos, reading ride reports, and most importantly just scouting the trail, when it turns out, Butler Maps has collected all that information in one place! Butler Maps has state or region specific maps for both paved roads (the “G1” series) and offroad (the “adventure” series) that show the difficulty and other details about particularly scenic or fun trails/roads. If you use code caitlinadvg1, you’ll get a 10% discount.

If you are flying in and need some outdoor gear for your adventure, we recommend SAVAGE BEE-CHES, conveniently located in Old Town San Diego, for your high end, lightweight, packable gear needs, perfect for moto camping- and grab some Mexican food and margaritas while you’re there in Old Town San Diego! We also recommend their Montezuma Valley Market in Ranchita, CA, conveniently located on S-22 (Montezuma’s Grade), as a stop for refreshments while you are riding around in the mountains. Their market is a favorite stop for PCT hikers and mountain recreation enthusiasts!

We trust Giant Loop soft luggage to carry our gear for our offroad adventures! We run the Great Basin rackless saddlebags, which attach to most bikes with passenger pegs and tail racks, for motocamping on our big BMW GS bikes, and they have stayed attached through some gnarly offroad sections!

We run the smaller Mojavi saddlebags on our dual sport machines, and they have survived some truly punishing offroad while not interfering with proper riding position. We also run the Cactus Canteen as a solution to carry more water without hefting it in a backpack, which will fatigue the rider more quickly, or filling the saddlebags.

We trust our expensive BMW GS motorcycles with Black Dog Cycle Works protection products, including skidplates, crash bar reinforcements, and cylinder guards for those vulnerable boxer engine cylinders that stick out. Not only has Black Dog crash-tested their products, we have too- and the bike survives every time! We all know BMWs cost a lot to fix, so we’d rather avoid that problem entirely.
