Bucket List Motorcycle Tours of the American Southwest on the BMW R1200 or 1250GS

I’ve had multiple renters recently pick up my 2022 BMW R1250GS Rallye or 2018 BMW R1200GS for long motorcycle tours of various southwestern national parks. I am celebrating one year in Flagstaff this Memorial Day weekend- and I am so happy that my “new” location in Flagstaff is a day’s ride or less from so many incredibly scenic locations like Moab, Monument Valley, Zion, Bryce Canyon, Capitol Reef, Arches, and Canyonlands National Parks! One renter from British Columbia did a loop of the “Mighty Five” Utah national parks in early May, enjoying perfect weather.

Another renter flew in all the way from Switzerland for almost 3 weeks of riding! Those Europeans sure get a lot of paid time off 😉 He rented the 1200GS and rode around Utah and through the Valley of Fire, Death Valley, Alabama Hills and Joshua Tree National Park to get to San Diego to visit his friends there, then rode back. I also gave him a guided tour to the Grand Canyon one day. He has rented motorcycles all around the world in exotic locations and literally lives and rides in the Alps all the time, and said the destinations he rode around this trip were jaw dropping!

I programmed every day of my route recommendations into the Garmin Zumo XT2 for the Swiss motorcycle tourer, 3 week’s worth of routes, bearing in mind the weather forecast, season, elevation, and destinations he wanted see. Route planning with all my southwestern expertise is another service I offer!

Both renters kept their belongings safe in the locking BMW hard panniers. I have 3 sets of hard locking panniers, depending on which bike you rent, and lots of soft luggage choices besides. You can fly in and I can set you up with everything you need for a long tour in the Southwest, just bring your jacket! I’m only 20 minutes from the Flagstaff airport! I have some sweet motorcycle rides planned for this summer throughout the southwest, including going to Colorado, Utah, and Arizona’s White Mountains- what about you?
